Abstract

Objective: To describe the current situation of generation, classification, collection and storage of medical solid waste at Ha Dong General Hospital in 2022. Research subjects and Study design: A cross-sectional study was conducted on books, documents, regulatory documents, facilities, equipment, and medical solid waste management processes from April 2022 to May 2023. Results and Conclusions: Facilities, equipment and tools for classification were provided adequately for departments/units as prescribed. Some instruments such as bags, boxes/containers for sharps waste, and waste collection were equipped to meet the regulations of the Ministry of Health. However, due to the small number of radioactive wastes, the hospital was not well-equipped with black boxes/containers for all departments and units.
