Abstract

Objective: to effects of electro- acupuncture, massage and acupressure combining with cervical spine exercises on relieving pain and improving cervical spine range of motion in patients with neck pain due to cervical spondylosis. Research method: open- label intervention study, before and after study. Subjects: 60 patients diagnosed with neck pain due to cervical spondylosis, were divided into 2 groups, according to the methods of homogenous pairing of age, gender, cervical spine^’s range of motion and VAS (Visual Analog Scale) pain score. The blood stasis with liver-kidney deficiency group and the wind-cold-dampness with liver-kidney deficiency group were treated with electro- acupuncture, massage and acupressure combining with cervical spine exercises, the regimen was once a day during 15 days. Results: Both groups recorded an improvement of VAS pain score and cervical spine^’s range of motion (p < 0.05), The blood stasis with liver-kidney deficiency group inproved greater than the wind-cold-dampness with liver-kidney deficiency group (p <0,05). Conclusion:  The method of electro- acupuncture, massage and acupressure combining with cervical spine exercises are effective in patients with neck pain due to cervical spondylosis, no side effect has been recorded during the treatment.
