OUTCOMES OF LOCKING PLATE OSTEOSYNTHESIS FOR DISTAL RADIUS FRACTURE

Abstract

Objectives: To describe the clinical characteristics, radiography of distal radius fractures and evaluate the results of surgical method in treating by using locking plate at Viet Duc Hospital. Subjects and Methods: Retrospective and prospective cross-sectional descriptive study on 45 patients between January 2021 and June 2023. Result: Mean age of study patients is 43,3 ± 15,04. Fracture classification according to AO showed that type A accounted for 4,4%, type B accounted for 37,8% and type C accounted for 57,8%.The average postoperative radiographic index was as follows: UA 21,78 degrees ± 2,04; UV -0,49mm ± 0,73; VA 12,76 degrees ± 2,90. The postoperative radiographic index recovered at good and very good results. Regards to function assessment after surgery according to Green and O'Brien, 86,7% of patients rated good and very good, 13,3% of patients rated moderate and none rated bad.
