RESULTS OF TREATMENT FOR URETEROPELVIC JUNCTION OBSTRUCTION BY RETROPERITONEAL LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY AT VIET DUC HOSPITAL

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the results of retroperitoneal laparoscopic surgery for treating ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) at Viet Duc Hospital from 2020 to 2023. Subject and method: A descriptive study on 67 patients who was operated on retroperitoneal laparoscopic surgery to treat UPJO. Patients were evaluated clinical, subclinical characteristics and image diagnosis at 6 months before and after surgery. Result: Average age was 27,5 ± 13,7 years. Males (68,7%). 49 patients (73,1%) underwent surgery to cut plastic surgery, 18 patients (26,9%) underwent non-plastic surgery. Mean operation time was 102,2 ± 19,1 minutes. Duration of treatment after surgery was 4,4 ± 1,0 days. After 6 months: The mean before-posterior diameter of the renal pelvis on CT scan was significantly reduced 33,6mm before surgery to 13,4mm. The percentage of patients with a degree of fluid retention at 3rd and 4th levels decreased from 32,8% to 1,5%. The rate of patients with good treatment results according to the general standard was 94%. Conclusion: Retroperitoneal laparoscopic surgery to treat UPJO has a high success rate (94%), giving the same result as open surgery, shortening the hospital stay.
