Abstract

Introduction: The utilization of Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) for image storage and transmission has become increasingly common in healthcare facilities. This study aims to describe the users' evaluation of the PACS system and its impact on work efficiency following its implementation at Viet Duc University Hospital. Methods: This cross-sectional study involved two groups of participants, including physicians (treating physicians and radiologists) and imaging technicians from eight departments/units where the PACS system was implemented in 2020. Results: The majority of participants evaluated the PACS system positively and recognized its effectiveness in their work. The functions provided by the PACS system were generally well-received, although improvements were suggested for the web and workstation functionalities. Recommendations: The implementation of the PACS system should be sustained and expanded within the hospital, with a focus on enhancing web and workstation functionalities.
