Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the treatment outcome of endogenous endophthalmitis in children at National Eye Hospital. Methods: Children were diagnosed and treated for endogenous endophthalmitis at the National Eye Hospital from 2016 to 2020. Retrospective study was conducted. Results: After treatment, out of 169 patients, 15 patients had good visual acuity, 79 patients had poor visual acuity and 75 patients could not be measured. Regarding the surgical results, 72.78% of patients had good results and 27.22% of patients had bad results. Overall assessment showed that 30.77% of patients had good treatment results, and 69.23% of patients had poor treatment results. Conclusion: Endogenous endophthalmitis is a serious disease causing severe damage to intraocular structures. After treatment, although the anatomical results were quite good, the vision outcome didn’t have significant improvement.
