Abstract

Introduction: Currently, myocarditis is quite common in clinical practice. The disease is difficult to diagnose because the symptoms are nonspecific and the cause of the disease is difficult to determine. Long-term progression after discharge from the hospital is still a question whose answer is still open. Objectives: Preliminary review of some clinical and paraclinical characteristics in patients diagnosed with acute myocarditis; determine the role of some paraclinical parameters in the prognosis of patients with acute myocarditis during hospitalization and after discharge. Subjects, methods, results and conclude: The medical records of 142 patients with acute myocarditis from 2017-2021 were reviewed, 15 records were excluded due to not being able to contact the patient, 8 patients were excluded due to comorbidities, and 1 patient had death due to traffic accident. Interviewing 118 patients said that all are currently healthy, 31 of them (26.1%) have come for re-examination, the results show that the patients have a relatively stable clinical condition, with a diameter of and left ventricular systolic function EF, plasma NT-ProBNP were within normal limits. The study also showed that NT-ProBNP and EF in 31 patients were meaningful indicators of disease prognosis during inpatient treatment as well as after discharge from the hospital.
