Abstract

Objective: Describe the current status of compliance with routine hand hygiene (RHH) among medical staff at Dong Hoi City General Hospital in 2023 and analyze some influencing factors. Subjects and methods: Cross-sectional descriptive research design, combining quantitative and qualitative. The research subjects were doctors, nurses, technicians, and midwives working at the hospital to evaluate the current state of hand hygiene compliance; In-depth interviews with hospital leaders and functional departments; Group discussion... to analyze influencing factors. Research period is from December 2022 to April 2023. Results: The overall rate of compliance with hygiene standards of the research team was 70.61%, hygiene hygiene with water and soap accounted for 43.89%. Before aseptic procedures (64.87%); 30.43% after contact with patient. RHH with alcohol-containing solution (56.11%): after contact with the patient (66.67%), after contact with the area around the patient is 32.35%. The rate of full compliance with the 6 steps is 23.28%. Seasonal workload overload is a factor in reducing RHH compliance rates. Health workers who are regularly trained have good knowledge and comply with higher standards of hygiene and sanitation. If the ward unit has regular inspections, the medical staff there will comply better with hygiene standards.
