DISEASE STRUCTURE, GENERAL HOSPITAL ACTIVITIES AT HA TRUNG DISTRICT, THANH HOA PROVINCE BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN 2019 TO 2022

Abstract
The retrospective - descriptive study using data on hospital statistics of Ha Trung district, Thanh Hoa province in 2019 to 2022. Objectives (1) Describe changes in disease structure, before, during and after COVID-19 pandemic and (2) Analyze the impact of the epidemic on hospital activities. The results showed: (1) Disease structure, in 2019, 2020 before the outbreak, in 2021 during the epidemic and after the epidemic, in 2022 there were strong fluctuations: Increasing ICD10 group VIII, and group X decreasing, Sarcovi-2 (U07.1) became the disease accounting for the highest proportion in 2020 and 2021. The impact of the epidemic on hospital activities are very clear: Reducing the number of outpatients by 27.6% compared to before epidemic outbreak in 2020 to 2021. The number of inpatient cases in 2021 decreased compared to 2019 by less than 5.6%. Hospital bed occupancy rate decreased by 5.8%. Subclinical activities fluctuated dramatically: there was an increase in the number of laboratory tests in the clinic Department by 54.3% and 17.3% for inpatients while other subclinical tests decreased. Conclusion: The COVID-19 pandemic has had a strong impact on the structure of illness and on hospital activities.
