Abstract

Objective: To compare the awakening quality after anesthesia of Desfuran (DES) and TCI Propofol (TCI) under general anesthesia with laryngeal mask airway for ureteral lithotripsy. Methods: This is a randomized controlled trial. 114 cases of ureteral lithotripsy under general anesthesia with laryngeal mask airway were randomly assigned to two group (DES or TCI). Primary outcome was time to awakening, time to extubation and awakening quality

Secondary outcomes were the effect on hemodynamics, side effect, the cost of two types of anesthesics. Results: The emergence time (including awakening time, extubation, and full recovery) in the DES group was significantly shorter than the TCI group (p<0.05). However, the quality of postoperative recovery according to the postQRS scoring system did not show significant differences. The average cost of anesthesia drugs per surgery case in the Desflurane group was significantly lower compared to the TCI Propofol group (p < 0.05). The incidence of side effects was low in both groups. Conclusions: Anesthesia maintenance with Desflurane will shorten time to awakening, the cost of anesthetics is less than TCI Propofol under general anesthesia with laryngeal mask airway for ureteral lithotripsy.
