ASTHMA SELF-CONTROL AND MOBILE APPLICATION TO HELP ASTHMA OUTPATIENTS
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to investigate the risk perception, barriers in the process of self-control, and the feasibility of using a mobile application to support asthma self-control at home. A qualitative study was conducted on 10 asthma patients treated at the Asthma-COPD Clinic, University Medical Center, Ho Chi Minh City. The results showed that the patient's risk perception, asthma severity, and asthma status influenced their actions. Mobile apps can become tools for asthma self-control at home as they are part of everyday life. All patients knew how to use mobile apps. Suggested functions include “asthma alert”, “medical record”, “emergency button”, “asthma information”, “save information”, and “use medication”.
