EVALUATING THE RESULTS OF TREATMENT OF PRIMARY ANGLE-CLOSURE GLOUCOMA USING LASER IRIDOTOMY AND LASER IRIDOPLASTY

Abstract

Objectives: Evaluation of initial results of laser iridectomy (LPI) and laser iridoplasty (LPIP) in the treatment of primary angle-closure glaucoma. Subjects and methods: 27 eyes that met the conditions were included in the study from the National Eye Hospital from March 2023 to October 2023. Prospective, clinical intervention study, all patients treated with LPI and LPIP, follow-up period 1 month. Results: The average intraocular pressure after 1 week is 20.78±6.89 mmHg, after 1 month is 17.78±1.67 mmHg, the absolute success rate of intraocular pressure control is 66.67%, relative 33.33%. The average anterior chamber angle opening is 1.71±0.63. Conclusion: laser iridotomy and laser iridoplasty are effective in lowering intraocular pressure in the treatment of primary angle-closure glaucoma.
