Abstract

Objective: To analyze the clinical characteristics of eyelid carcinoma at the Vietnam National Eye Hospital from 2017 to 2021. Subjects and research methods: A retrospective description was performed on 190 eyelid carcinoma patients who were surgically treated at the Vietnam National Eye Hospital from January 2017 to December 2021. Results: Research was conducted on 190 patients. Basal cell carcinoma appeared with the highest rate of 57.9%, sebaceous carcinoma accounted for 27.4%. Malignant melanoma and other cancers were less common with 6.8% and 7.9%, respectively. The majority of patients had mass on eyelids (98.9%), eyelid ulcer (42.1%), bleeding (37.4%), deformity of the eyelashes (26%) and pain (23.7%). Conclusion: Basal cell carcinoma is the most common eyelid cancer in Vietnam. The majority of the patients had mass on eyelids, eyelid ulcer and bleeding.
