Abstract

Objective: To assess the therapeutic outcomes of the combined application of "Huyet phu truc u thang" and "Dao dam thang" in rehabilitating motor functions among patients with ischemic stroke after  acute  phase. Subjects and Methods: The study was designed as a clinical intervention trial, utilizing a pre- and post-treatment comparative approach. Comprising 60 patients diagnosed with motor paralysis due to ischemic stroke after the acute phase, who were treated with the researched combination of "Huyet phu truc u thang" and "Dao dam thang." Results: After 25 days of treatment, patients with upper limb strength at level 3 or above increased from 25% to 76.7%, and patients with lower limb strength at level 3 or above increased from 28.3% to 96.7%.The Barthel score increased from 27.58 ± 13.45 points to 72.33 ± 16.12 points. The improvement in the Rankin disability scale resulted in 21.7% achieving a favorable Rankin outcome, 58.3% achieving a moderate outcome, and 20% of patients obtaining a poor outcome. The differences before and after treatment are statistically significant with p < 0.05. Conclusion: The combined therapy of "Huyet phu truc u thang" and "Dao dam thang" exhibits efficacy in rehabilitating motor functions among patients with ischemic stroke after  acute  phase.
