Abstract

Background: In Vietnam, during the COVID-19 outbreak from April 2021 to the end of 2021, safe and effective vaccination is the only way to reduce the mortality rate and slow down this situation. Objective: Survey the attitudes about vaccination of officials and workers working at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CHCMC) from January 2022 to March 2022. Materials and methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study of 422 officials and workers working at the University of Traditional Medicine. Results: 226/422 (53.6%) survey participants were worried about COVID-19 vaccination. Gender and professional characteristics had a statistically significant influence on anxiety about COVID-19 vaccination with p = 0.036 and p = 0.018, respectively. The top cause of concern about COVID-19 vaccination was from news in the media, accounting for 73.8% and 48.4% of individuals doubting that the vaccination was not effective and safe. In addition, up to 88.6% of subjects believe that the COVID-19 vaccine was safe and had some side effects. In addition, 55.6% of officials and workers participating in the survey believe that vaccines can protect us from COVID-19 infection. Conclusion: Worry about COVID-19 vaccination was still quite high (53.6%). Communication activities should be carried out at school to further improve positive attitudes towards COVID-19 vaccination
