Methodology: A cross-sectional descriptive study of 126 patients who underwent artificial hip replacement surgery and used epidural analgesia at Viet Duc Hospital from August to August. 2022 to December 2022. Results: The average VAS score at rest was quite good: The patient had the most pain when moving on the first day after surgery with moderate pain when moving (VAS 3-4) was 51.6% to the third day only 1.6% of patients still have moderate pain, mostly no pain or little pain. 95.2% of patients were generally satisfied with the pain relief. 94.4% and 89.7% of the patients were satisfied and very satisfied with being provided with complete information when using the family package and pain relief method. Over 99% of patients are satisfied and very satisfied with the pain relief results after surgery. 100% NB feels satisfied and very satisfied with the words, attitudes, and communication of health workers. Patients with surgery time ≤ 2 hours had better pain care results than patients with surgery time over 2 hours (p<0.05). Continuous analgesic infusion rate > 4ml/h has better analgesic care results than drug infusion rate ≤ 4ml/h (p<0.05). Patients with poor pain care had to give more bolus than patients with good analgesia (p<0.05). Conclusion: Outcome of pain care is good. The overall satisfaction score of patients about the effectiveness of analgesia care is high, factors affecting the effectiveness of nursing care analgesia include: surgery time, analgesia infusion rate. Hospitals need to develop a plan to train medical staff on pain-relieving care packages, provide handouts with illustrations on pain-relief packages, classify patients by surgery time group, and surgery to ensure the effectiveness of the pain relief.
