ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION POST-COVID-19 SYMPTOMS AND RELATED FACTORS AMONG STUDENTS IN UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGE IN HANOI, 2022

Abstract

Objectives of the study: Describe the anxiety and depression post-COVID-19 symptoms in students of some universities and college in Hanoi and some related factors. Subjects and method: A cross-sectional study using a semi-structured questionnaire on 1786 students from 6 universities and college of Hanoi. Results: The results showed that the mean of GAD-7 score was 4.43 ± 4.82. Being born in rural, BMI under 18kg/m2, having background disease; number of days infected with COVID-19 >=7days, being treated COVID-19 in hospital, fatigue, sleep disorder, mood disorder and sputum were identified as factors associated with risk of anxiety in students. The mean PHQ-9 score was  6.10 ± 0.13. Gender female, having background disease, number of days infected with COVID-19>=7 days, being treated COVID-19 in hospital, attention disorder, sleep disorder, mood disorder, and memory loss were identified as factors associated with risk of anxiety in students. Conclusion: Students need more attention in interventions to reduce the effects of anxiety and depression post COVID-19 symptoms
