Abstract

Objective: Describing the clinical and paraclinical characteristics and some factors influencing the overall survival beyond 5 years after liver resection in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma at VietDuc University Hospital. Subjects and methods: Retrospective description of 52 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma who underwent liver resection and survived more than 5 years at VietDuc University Hospital from January 2015 to December 2017. Results of the study: The mean additional survival time after surgery was 96.5 ± 1 months, and the influencing factors were: age, preoperative liver function, number and size of tumors, satellite nodules around the main tumor, tumor cell differentiation, disease stage, and extent of liver resection.
