Abstract

Introduction: Injuries, particularly non-fatal injuries, represent a significant public health concern globally, especially in developing countries. Elevating public knowledge about injury prevention is key to reducing injury-related hospitalizations and deaths. This study investigates the awareness of injury prevention among residents in the mid-mountainous region of Phu Binh district, Thai Nguyen province. Method: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted with a sample size of 399 residents at the study site, using a pre-designed questionnaire. The questions were designed to assess the public's knowledge of general injury prevention. Results: The findings indicate that the knowledge of residents regarding injury prevention is limited. Only 5.26% possess comprehensive knowledge of injury causes, 19.05% are aware of the consequences of injuries, 1.5% have knowledge of various types of injuries within their households, 0.75% have knowledge of occupational injuries, and 15.54% have knowledge of injury prevention measures.
