Abstract

Objective: Describing the disease structure of inpatients treated at Vinh City General Hospital in the period 2018 - 2022. Research subjects and methods: Retrospective cross-sectional descriptive study of medical records Inpatient treatment stored on the HIS system has a hospitalization period from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2022. Results: The age groups of patients were mainly from 16-49 years old and 50-69 years old. The proportion of patients in the group over 70 years old tends to increase over the years from 17.64% in 2018 to 21.21% in 2022. There are 4 chapters on respiratory, digestive, obstetric and circulatory diseases. the highest incidence rate, especially musculoskeletal diseases will increase in rate by 2022. The five most common diseases in the period 2018-2022 have little change, including: natural birth/caesarean section of one fetus, neuralgia sciatica, vestibular disorders, hypertension. The rate of pneumonia will increase in 2022. Conclusion: The disease structure tends to increase in common non-communicable disease groups such as internal medicine, surgery and traditional medicine. Identifying disease patterns helps provide appropriate strategies for hospitals to better plan and prepare for disease treatment.
