RESULTS OF IMATINIB TREATMENT FOR GASTRO INTESTINAL STROMA TUMORS (GISTs) AT THE HANOI ONCOLOGY HOSPITAL

Abstract
Objects: To evaluate the treatment results of Gastro intestinal stroma tumors with Imatinib. Subjects and methods: A descriptive study was conducted in 46 patients with Gastro intestinal stroma tumors that were treated with Imatinib at the Hanoi Oncology Hospital from 1/2018 to 6/2023. Results: In a total of 46 patients participating in the study, Partial Response (PR) rate was 52,2%; Disease Control Rate (DCR) was 82,6%. Median progression-free survival (PFS) was 41 months. There was a relationship between ECOG performance status and the response rate, progression-free survival (p<0.05). Conclusion: Treatment of Gastro intestinal stroma tumors with Imatinib gives a high disease control and improves progression-free survival.
