Abstract

Objectives: To assess the impact of psoriasis on all aspects of patients' quality of life and the relationship between epidemiological and clinical factors with the quality of life in psoriasis patients. Subjects and methods: This was a cross-sectional descriptive study based on data of 100 patients with a confirmed diagnosis of vulgaris psoriasis, who visited Hanoi Dermatology Hospital from April 2021 to October 2021 . Results: A total of 100 patients were identified. The quality of life of 85% of patients was affected, of which 72% of patients were seriously and very seriously affected. Symptoms, feelings and daily activities were the most affected factors (mean scores 2.48±0.67 and 2.18±0.54, respectively). The quality of life of patients aged 16-39 years old is most affected (DLQI 18 ± 2.9), women are affected more than men (DLQI 20.58 ± 5.84 vs. 12.46 ± 4.49, respectively with p < 0.05). Group of patients with early disease onset (< 30 years old) had a higher DLQI than the late onset group (19.31 ± 3.80 and 12.01 ± 2.76 with p < 0.05). Quality of life did not differ according to disease duration but was related to disease severity (p<0.05). Conclusion: Psoriasis seriously affects the patient's quality of life, especially in terms of feeling and daily activities. Quality of life is more severely affected in women, people of working age, and people with early disease onset and is related to the severity of the disease.
