SITUATION OF COVID 19 INFECTIONS AND SOME RELATED FACTORS OF STUDENTS OF HANOI MEDICAL UNIVERSITY IN 2021-2022

Abstract

Objective: The study was conducted to evaluate the status of COVID-19 infection and some related factors of Hanoi Medical University students in 2021 - 2022. Research method: Cross-sectional study on 1253 students at Hanoi Medical University. Results: Among 1253 students participating in the study, the incidence of COVID - 19 was 575/1253 subjects (45.89%). The rate of COVID - 19 infection in 2nd year students (Y2) is the highest (57.22%), the lowest is 6th year students (Y6) accounting for 0.35%. The rate of students infected with COVID - 19 at home and in the community is the highest (both 37.6%), there are no cases of COVID - 19 when fighting the epidemic in the place where they live (0%). The clinical symptoms of COVID - 19 among students accounting for the highest proportion include: Fatigue/weakness (87.31%), cough (85.94%), sore throat (85.82%), headache (78.68%), fever (76.54%). Symptoms of diarrhea, loss of smell, and loss of taste have the lowest rates (15.57%, 15.54% and 12.45% respectively). The number of students vaccinated with 3 doses of COVID - 19 vaccine accounts for the highest rate (83.93%), the number of students vaccinated with 2 shots accounts for 13.97%, the lowest rate is no/not vaccinated (0 .91%). Conclusion: The incidence of COVID-19 among students of Hanoi Medical University is quite high in 2021-2022 and the symptoms are also diverse and typical of COVID-19.
