Abstract

Congenital penile curvature is a rare condition, with a prevalence of less than 1% in males. However, it can significantly impact sexual and psychological well-being of affected individuals. In our study, we conducted a descriptive retrospective and prospective research on 33 patients who underwent surgery using the time-honored technique of corporoplasty from June 2018 to May 2023. The results showed a mean age of 24.67±4.13 (ranging from 18 to 34 years), with the highest proportion in the age group of 23-29 years at 57.6%. The patients were divided into two groups based on the direction of penile curvature, with 54.5% having a ventral curvature and 45.5% having a lateral curvature. There were no patients with dorsal curvature. The post-surgical angle of penile curvature significantly changed from 45.18°±11.78° to 9.24°±5.69°. The pre-operative and post-operative penile length remained preserved. The sexual function of the patients, assessed using the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-15) questionnaire, showed a significant improvement, particularly in the satisfaction domain, with a change from 8.72±2.38 to 11.94±1.43. The average duration of surgery and hospital stay were 81.52 minutes and 3.76 days, respectively.
