Abstract

Objectives: The primary objective of this study was to assess the outcomes of the rehabilitation process following arthroscopic meniscectomy. Subjects and methods: This study followed a prospective approach, conducting an evaluation both before and after the intervention, without a control group, a total of 40 patients who underwent arthroscopic meniscectomy for meniscus tear at Viet Duc Hospital in 2023 were included in this study. Patients were assessed at two specific time points to measure the effectiveness of the intervention: 2 days after surgery and 1 month after surgery. Results: The mean age of the participants was 47,32 ± 18,88 years, with a majority of male patients. According to the research findings, meniscal lesions are mainly caused by sports-related injuries, with a rate of 37,5%. At one- month post-surgery mark, the majority of patients reported minor levels of pain on the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). Additionally, patients demonstrated improvements in their knee function and quality of life, as assessed by the Lysholm knee scale and EQ-5D-5L questionnaire, respectively. Conclusion: This study highlights the significance of early rehabilitation after arthroscopic meniscectomy for improving lower limb function and quality of life one month post-operation.
