Abstract

Objectives: Research on the clinical effects of “Longchaitang” in treating chronic hepatitis Virus B. Methods: 60 patients with chronic hepatitis Virus B were randomly divided into two groups, 32 in treating group and 28 in control group. The treating group was treated with “Longchaitang” One dose for 1 day. Each decoction was decocted two times. The control group was treated with Silibinin tablets. Patients were asked to take 3 tablets in one time, 2 times a day. Course of treatment 3 months is one of course of treatment for both groups and effect were estimated after 2 courses of treatment. Results:  As for the treating group, basic cure rate is 56.25%, effect rate is 37.5%, nullity rate is 6.25% and the total effect rate is 93.75%. As for the control group, basic cure rate is 14.29%, effect rate is 46.43%, nullity rate is 39.28% and the total effect rate is 60.72%. Basic cure rate and total effect rate are significantly different between the two groups (P<0.01). Conclusion: “Longchaitang” based on the theoretical basis of traditional medicine to treat chronic hepatitis B virus. “Longchaitang” a is quite effective in treating chronic hepatitis B virus.
