Abstract

Objectives: Clinical, laboratory characteristics of patients with complications of arteriovenous bridge failure using dialysis; Results of surgical management. Methodology: Retrospective, descriptive study on Cases of bridge failure were operated at Thong Nhat hospital, from 01/2018 to 01/2023. Results: 46 patients, male/female ratio 25/21. Before surgery: primary bridging failure (11), secondary failure (35). The average operation time was 98.8 + 45 minutes. Good results (31) discharged, (24) after 12 months. Post-operative complications: severe injury, canceling the shunt, creating a new one at another location (2), death due to acute kidney complications (1), obstruction (06), anastomosis (05), high flow (02), wound bleeding (05), wound infection (06). Conclusion: Secondary failure predominates. Complications and surgical results depend on factors: location, pulse and anastomosis, monitoring and early detection of occlusion after surgery. postoperative result was good. The complication rate was similar to other studies.
