THE STATUS OF TOOTH LOSS AND PROSTHODONTIC TREATMENT NEEDS AMONG OLDER ADULTS AT DENTAL DEPARTMENT OF 108 MILITARY CENTRAL HOSPITAL

Abstract
Tooth loss is a common condition in the elderly, this condition affects the health and quality of life of patients. Understanding the status of tooth loss as well as the need for prosthetic treatment in this age group will contribute to improving the effectiveness of treatment, especially at central hospitals. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 125 elderly people who visited the Dental Department of 108 Central Military Hospital. The results showed that the overall tooth loss rate was 88.8%, about 40,5% of patients with tooth loss were restored. About 83,8% of participants needed prosthodontic treatment. About 73,9% of participants required prosthodontic treatment. Conclusions: The rate of tooth loss in the elderly is still high, the restoration of missing teeth is still limited, so the need for restoration in this subject is still quite large.
