SOME FACTORS AFFECTING PROACTIVE SCREENING ACTIVITIES FOR HYPERTENSION AT HEALTH STATIONS IN DISTRICT 12, HO CHI MINH CITY IN 2023

Abstract

The research was conducted with the goal of: Understanding some factors affecting proactive screening activities for hypertension at Health Stations in District 12, Ho Chi Minh City in 2023; Using a descriptive cross-sectional research design, using qualitative research methods, purposive sampling with 5 in-depth interviews. Implementation period is from April 2023 to August 2023 at 11 Medical Stations of District 12 Medical Center, Ho Chi Minh City. Positive influencing factors: attention, direction and support from district and ward authorities and some pilot wards receiving funding from the project "Community for a Healthy Heart", project "Good health". Influential factors are not positive: Medical staff at the station is still very lacking; Supervision and support from higher levels and from medical centers are not carried out regularly and evenly; Difficulties in funding sources; Facilities and equipment for screening examinations are not regularly guaranteed; People do not really trust and awareness of proactive screening for hypertension is not good.
