EVALUATION OF KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE AND FALL PREVENTION BEHAVIOR OF INPATIENT PATIENTS AT THE DEPARTMENT OF TRAUMATIC AND ORTHOPAEDICS SURGERY, NGUYEN TRI PHUONG HOSPITAL

Abstract
Objective: Evaluate knowledge and fall prevention behavior of inpatients at the Department of Trauma and Orthopedics at Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital. Subjects and methods: Descriptive cross-sectional study on 279 patients being treated at the Department of Trauma and Orthopedics at Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital from January 2023 to June 2023. Results: The results showed that the age group < 60 years old accounted for the highest proportion of 61.65%. The percentage of patients with knowledge about preventing falls is 29.03%; The attitude of being very concerned about preventing falls was 64.87% and the general correct behavior was 24.73%. There is a relationship between the patient's general knowledge and the patient's gender, age group, education level and risk of falling (p<0.05). There is a relationship between the patient's general behavior and gender and age group (p<0.05). There is a strong positive correlation between general knowledge and general patient behavior (p<0.05). Conclusion: Patients' knowledge and behavior to prevent falls is still low. Factors such as age, gender, education level and fall risk affect the patient's knowledge and behavior.
