Abstract

Objective: Describe the characteristics of skin and mucosal lesions of Lichen planus (LP) through Dermoscopy analysis. Subjects and methods: The study was conducted on 101 LP patients at the National Dermatology Hospital, from September 2022 to the end of August 2023, using a cross-sectional descriptive research design. Results: The average age of the patients was 45.6 ± 10.6, the male: female ratio was 1.16:1. Dermoscopy results recorded in our study were as follows: the most common image was Wickham's network (Wickham's network). striae – WS) (88.1%), followed by straight and dotted blood vessels (34.7%), and pigmentation (27.7%). After treatment, the WS network and blood vessels disappear, leaving only pigment at a rate of 100%. Conclusion: Dermoscopy is a valuable non-invasive technique not only in diagnosing LP but also assisting clinicians in assessing prognosis and assessing treatment response.
