Abstract
Retinal detachment is a serious disease, one of the most important causes of vision loss. The encircling buckle operation for the repair of retinal detachment is one of the methods has been in use for many years and is still a frequent procedure. Anterior segment ischemia (ASI) is a rare but serious complication of posterior segment surgery. In Vietnam, scleral band surgery for primary retinal detachment has been performed since the 1960s, but cases of complications related to anterior segment ischemia have only been reported singly.
