EVOLUTION OF CHILDREN'S DENTAL CARIES IN THE RED RIVER REGION OVER THE PAST TWO DECADES

Abstract
Research data on children's tooth decay in the Red River Rigion through national oral health surveys to evaluate the progression of tooth decay, including caries experiences in both primary and permanent dentitions. The research results help to reassess dental care activities for school children here over the past two decades as well as warn about risk factors and results of dental caries prevention care for children. Research results show that: - The state of caries in primary dentition in children 6 - 8 years old is high and increasing in both tooth decay rate and dmft index. Potential caries risk factors outweigh those of preventive care. - Caries experiences in the permanent dentition in children 6 - 8 years old increases both in tooth decay rate and DMFT index. - Children of older ages have increased DMFT index after 2 decades. - The state of care and treatment for cavities is at an alarmingly low level.
