EVALUATING THE RESULTS OF BRUNESCENT-BLACK CATARACT SURGERY USING THE PHACO METHOD AT NGHE AN EYE HOSPITAL IN 2023

Abstract

Objectives: Evaluating the results of brunescent-black cataract surgery using the phaco method. Subjects and methods: Prospective descriptive study on 60 eyes of patients with brunescent-black cataracts scheduled for cataract surgery and intraocular lens placement using the Phaco method, who came for examination and surgery at Nghe An Eye Hospital from December 2022 to September 2023 Results: Vision recovered and stabilized after 1 month. Difficulties in surgery may occur: poor pupil dilation, weak Zinn cord, unstable anterior chamber, making surgery difficult. Complications during and after surgery with low rates are: 3% tearing of the posterior capsule, 7% corneal edema, 7% surgical margin edema and 1.7% glaucoma, no decentration IOL indicating safe surgery. All patients were satisfied after surgery.
