NUTRITIONAL STATUS AND EATING HABITS OF NOSE AND THROAT CANCER PATIENTS TREATING CHEMISTRY - RADIOTHERAPY AT NATIONAL OTORHINORARYNOLOGY HOSPITAL OF VIETNAM IN 2023

Abstract
Objective: Evaluation of nutritional status and eating habits of nasopharyngeal cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy at national otorhinorarynology hospital of vietnam in 2023. Subjects and research methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study of 30 patients with nasopharyngeal cancer treated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Results: 60% of patients are classified as malnourished according to BMI classification. 86.7% of patients were at risk of malnutrition according to PG-SGA (70% PG-SGA C and 16.7% PG-SGA B). The rate of malnutrition according to PG-SGA in patients who had chemotherapy and radiotherapy for more than 30 days was higher than the group for 30 days (p<0.05). Most patients have the habit of smoking, drinking alcohol, eating less white meat, eating red meat, processed meat, fatty/oily foods, eating salty foods, and rarely consuming green vegetables and fruits. Conclusion: High rate of malnutrition patients, malnutrition risk according to BMI and PG-SGA. The time of most recent chemotherapy has an impact on TTDD according to PG-SGA. Most patients have many eating habits that are harmful to the disease.
