Abstract

Objective: The study aims to describe the mental health status and some related factors of commune-level health workers directly participating in COVID-19 prevention in 2021-2022 in 7 key provinces and cities during 2021- 2022. Study design: Cross-sectional study. Research results: on 206 commune-level health workers show that the number of health workers with medical vocational degrees’ accounts for the highest proportion (41.7%), followed by university and college degrees, 27.7% and 28.7%, respectively. The proportion of health workers at the commune level with a Master's degree/Specialty level 1 is only 1.9%. The proportion of commune health workers worried that the COVID 19 pandemic was not under control, worried that they may be infected with COVID 19 or exposed to COVID-19 cases without knowing it is significantly higher than other issues in the whole country during 2021 and 2022. At the same time, anxiety problems among healthcare workers tend to decrease from 2021 to 2022. The study recorded that 168 (81.6%) commune-level healthcare workers had normal mental health status after the pandemic. The remaining 36 (18.4%) health workers had problems related to PTSD to varying degrees. In the regression model of factors related to the likelihood of PTSD in commune-level health workers participating in epidemic prevention in 2021 and 2022, reusing personal protective equipment is the only factor that increases the risk of PTSD to 2.67 times (95%CI: 1.06 - 6.76).
