Abstract

Objectives: Describe the results of practice of cavity preparation class I between the SimEx virtual simulation system and instructors; Survey students opinions about the SimEx system in dental practice. Methodology: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 103 research subjects who were second-year students majoring in Dentistry at the School of Dentistry - Hanoi Medical University. Results: The average score scored by instructors 1, 2, and 3 is 8.05; 8.06; and 8.09 points. The average score scored by the instructor is 8.07 points. The average score scored by the machine is 8.13 points. The score given by the machine is similar to the score given by the instructors. Survey of student opinions show that the system helps students have a better three-dimensional view, as well as practice with greater accuracy. This system can be used as a new digital dental education tool, applied to the teaching process and student assessment.
