Abstract

Objectives: To evaluate the knowledge and practice of infection control in safe injections of healthcare workers at Tien Yen district health center, Quang Ninh in 2022. Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 130 healthcare workers at Tien Yen district health center. Study subjects were requested to complete a self-administered questionnaire. The data was entered using Epidata 3.1 software and analyzed in SPSS 20.0. Results: The proportion of healhcare workers with adequate knowledge of infection control in safe injections was 66.2%; in which, low adequate knowledge rates related to storage and handling of sharp objects were 51.5% and 46.9%, respectively. The proportion of healthcare workers with adequate practice of infection control in safe injections is 76.9%. Conclusion: The study suggested strengthening inspection and supervision to support healthcare workers’ practice on infection control in safe injections.
