Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of some interventions to change knowledge and practice in fall prevention for the elderly in Vu Thu district, Thai Binh province, in 2022. Method: Community intervention with a control group. Results: After the intervention program, there was a change in knowledge, increasing in both groups compared to before the intervention, which was concentrated with significant p < 0.001. The change in average knowledge score was different in the intervention group and the control group in all contents. The average score of the practical content of the elderly after intervention increased compared to before intervention, with statistical significance at p < 0.001. Conclusion: After the intervention program, there was an increased change in knowledge and practice in the intervention group. The high risk of falling among the elderly in the intervention group decreased by more than half after the intervention.
