CLINICAL AND SUB-CLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF PERIODONTITIS STAGE 3

Abstract
Objective: Describe clinical and paraclinical characteristics of stage 3 periodontitis in a group of Hanoi Central Dental Hospital patients. Methods: The study was conducted on 40 patients with stage 3 periodontitis who came for examination and treatment at the Department of Periodontology, Hanoi Central Odonto-Stomatology Hospital. Results: The majority of subjects were male, aged over 35. The main reason for coming for examination is bleeding gums, which account for 40%, followed by loose teeth, which account for 25%. The highest proportion of subjects with moderate gingivitis was 65.0%; 12.5% had severe gingivitis. Mean of GI index is 1.9±0.6. Average periodontal pocket depth 7.1±1.2mm, attachment loss 7.8±1.3mm, bone defect depth 5.7±1.3mm.
