EVALUATING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF INTERVENTION WITH VISUAL IMAGES ON ORAL HEALTH KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE, AND PRACTICE OF PREGNANT WOMEN

Abstract
Objective: Evaluate the effectiveness of visual intervention on pregnant women's knowledge, attitudes, and oral health practices. Subjects and Methods: The study was conducted on 126 pregnant females in pregnancy II (from the 13th to the 24th week of pregnancy) with a healthy history and a normal pregnancy and pregnancy who went to antenatal care at Phuong Dong Hospital from 1st August 2021 to 1st February 2022. Results: Before the intervention, the knowledge, attitude, and practice scores on dental care in pregnant women were 4.86±2.05, respectively, 8.03±1.74, and 6.22±1.98. After the intervention, the knowledge, attitude, and practice scores on dental care in the study subjects increased by 7.03±1.38, respectively, 9.41±0.78, and 7.29±1.63; The difference is statistically significant with p < 0.05. Conclusion: Preliminary research shows that using visual intervention methods effectively improves pregnant women's knowledge, attitudes, and practices in oral health care.
