RESEARCH THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN VARIATION OF BLOOD PRESSURE WITH INFERIOR VENA CAVA DIAMETER BEFORE AND AFTER DIALYSIS IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE
Main Article Content
Abstract
Objective: To evaluate variation of blood pressure with inferior vena cava diameter before and after dialysis in patients with chronic kidney disease. Subjects and methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study in 70 chronic kidney disease patients on hemodialysis from January 2023 to June 2023; Measure blood pressure and measure the size of the inferior vena cava by ultrasound before and after the dialysis. Results: Mean systolic blood pressure after dialysis was 138.42 ± 18.89 mmHg, significantly higher than before dialysis (p < 0.01). The rate of increased SBP before dialysis was 36%, after dialysis the rate of increased blood pressure was 80%; Mean diastolic blood pressure before dialysis was 80.9 ± 13.03 mmHg, significantly higher than after dialysis (p < 0.01). Blood pressure is related to the change in the size of the inferior vena cava before and after dialysis, especially the IVC-CI index with r = 0.237 (p < 0.05), a statistically significant positive correlation. Conclusion: There is a relationship between variation of blood pressure and the index of inferior vena cava collapse before and after dialysis in patients with chronic kidney disease.
