Abstract

Aims: The first study was conducted at a top government hospital with the aim of truthfully describing the understanding and related factors of clinical medical staffs towards the hospital's social work profession, in order to delve into the knowledge, attitude, and behavior of medical staffs towards the social work activities. Methods: The study describes a cross-sectional survey conducted over a period of time or a short period of time, where each subject only collects information once, rather than tracking time, then infer the causal relationship between variables to determine the predictive factors and outcomes, in order to determine the understanding of social work among medical staff at Phu San Hanoi Hospital in 2021. Results: Research shows that the majority of medical staff at Phu San Hanoi Hospital have an average of 48.7% understanding of Social work profession. However, most medical staffs (80%) hold a positive attitude towards the Social work profession. Conclusions: The study shows that medical staffs has different definitions of the role of social work in hospitals around the world, and hospitals still have some misunderstandings about social work, such as combining charitable activities with Social work activities. Or refuse to work in the same team as Social worker.
