Abstract

Objective: Review some clinical and paraclinical characteristics of thymoma patients. Patients and methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study on 56 thymoma patients treated by laparoscopic surgery at Vietnam National Cancer Hospital from 2017 to 2022. Results: The average age of patients is 57,5 ± 23,5 years old (34-81), 85,7% of patients have clinical symptoms, the most common symptom is chest pain with 44.6%, followed by drooping eyelids and difficulty breathing with 30,3%. On computed tomography, 80,4% of patients had organizational density, 19,6% of patients had mixed density, and 7 patients (12,5%) had calcium in the tumor, the average size was 6,88 ± 3,67 cm. The majority of patients have histopathological types A and AB, accounting for 51,8%. Conclusion: The average age of patients is 57,5 ± 23,5, the majority of patients have symptoms at the time of diagnosis, and the size average is 6,88 ± 3,67 cm.
