Abstract

Objectives: To describe the anxiety status of patients before surgery at Ninh Binh Eye Hospital, evaluate the effectiveness of music therapy in reducing anxiety for patients surgery at Ninh Binh Eye Hospital. Methods: Patients with indications for planned surgery at the Eye Hospital of Ninh Binh province. Interventional research method, with a control group before and after. Results: In the intervention group after listening to music, the STAI anxiety level decreased by 24.66 points (From 50.98 to 26.32), the survival index all decreased to the allowable limit for surgery (p value < 0.05), the difference was statistically significant. Conclusions: Listening to music while waiting before surgery reduces anxiety levels of surgical patients. Reducing anxiety leads to better patient compliance and better surgical outcomes.
