CHANGING TREATMENT COMPLIANCE AND SELF-CARE OF PATIENTS WITH PERIODIC HEMODILISATION AT THANH NHAN HOSPITAL IN 2023

Abstract

Objective: Evaluate the change in treatment compliance and self-care of patients with hemodialysis after health education intervention at Thanh Nhan hospital in 2023. Research subjects and methods: Interventional research The intervention compared before and after without a control group, the entire sample size, conveniently selected patients undergoing dialysis at Thanh Nhan Hospital with dialysis duration < 3 months during the period from February 2023 to August 2023. Analyze data on SPSS 20.0, check for normal distribution, compare using parametric tests of 2 quantitative variables using McNemar Test, Friedman Test, Fisher test. Results: After being counseled about STD knowledge, 100% of patients knew that STD treatment results were not curable. Knowledge of compliance with taking medication regularly, regularly, with the right medicine, at the right time, and at the right dose increased from 39.7% to 81.0%; 100% of patients went for dialysis on time. After being advised on non-medication treatment compliance, 84.5% improved their nutritional regimen; 84.5% participated in exercise. 98.3% of patients regularly have regular check-ups. Conclusion: Health education counseling intervention for patients with kidney disease on dialysis brings good results in terms of treatment compliance and self-care of patients.
