Abstract

Knowledge of treatment compliance can help to improve COPD patients’ self-care behaviors, enhance treatment effectiveness and thereby improve the quality of life for patients [4], [5]. Objective: A describe knowledge of treatment compliance among COPD outpatients at Thanh Chuong General Hospital, Nghe An in 2023. Methods: Descriptive study was conducted on COPD outpatients treated at Thanh Chuong General Hospital and data were collected using a questionnaire. Results: The mean score of patients' general knowledge was 6.73 ± 1.43 points, in which, the lowest mean score of knowledge of exercise and respiratory rehabilitation was 3.79 ± 1.89 points and knowledge of nutrition was 5,5 ± 1.03 points; The mean score of knowledge of medication compliance and risk factor prevention were 6,79 ± 1,63 and 6,12 ± 0.35 point, respectively. Conclusion: COPD patients' knowledge of treatment compliance was at an average level. The areas in which patients have poor knowledge are exercise and respiratory rehabilitation.
