Abstract
Objective: To specifically survey the impacts of atopic dermatitis on the family, parents or direct caregiver of the child through the DFI questionnaire (Dermatitis Family Impact Questionnaire). Methods: Descriptive cross-sectional study on 408 parents or direct caregivers of children with atopic dermatitis at Children's Hospital 2 and Ho Chi Minh City Hospital of Dermato- Venereology, from February 2023 to July 2023. Results: The results showed that all quality of life items, carrying the psychosocial burden of families of children with atopic dermatitis, were affected. The housework, family finances, and sleep disturbances and mental health of the child's caregiver are mainly affected. Conclusion: Atopic dermatitis diversely affects many aspects of the quality of life of families, parents and direct caregivers of children. It is essential to develop health education for this population and create more effective treatment strategies for atopic dermatitis.
