HEALTH LITERACY ON SIGNS OF DEPRESSION AND SOME RELATED FACTORS AMONG HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS IN THANH XUAN DISTRICT, HANOI CITY

Abstract

Objective: The study was conducted to investigate health literacy on signs of depression and related factors. Subjects and methods: a cross-sectional study was conducted on 257 high school teachers in Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi, Vietnam, from December 2023 to February 2024, using the questionnaire adapted from the questionnaire by Jorm (1997). Results: Out of 257 teachers participating in the study, 47 people, equivalent to 18.3%, correctly recognized the signs of depression. Factors such as and several other factors do not show a relationship between correct health literacy on signs of depression. Conclusion: The study shows that the prevalence of teachers with adequate health literacy on signs of depression is still low, and intervention measures are needed to improve knowledge about mental health issues, including depression.
