Abstract

Background: Tuberculosis is one of the leading causes of death worldwide, leaving many serious consequences for patients, their families and society. To achieve the goal of ending tuberculosis by 2030, treatment compliance is a prerequisite, especially treatment compliance of AFB-positive pulmonary tuberculosis patients. Objective: Determine the treatment compliance rate of AFB (+) pulmonary tuberculosis patients in the attack phase and some related factors. Methods: Cross-sectional description of 153 patients being treated for AFB (+) tuberculosis after 2 months of attack at Ben Cat Medical Center from February to September 2023 Results: The overall TB treatment compliance rate of patients is 77.8%, of which the highest rate is 94.1% of patients using full doses and types of drugs. The rate of patients becoming negative after 2 months of intensive treatment The success rate is 95.4%. Some factors related to treatment adherence in tuberculosis patients: Education level (p=0.001; OR= 3.491; 95% CI: 1.58-7.715). Cohabitation status (p=0.019; OR= 2.89; 95% CI 1.157- 7.213. Comorbidity with chronic diseases (p=0.01; OR=3.942; 95% CI: 1.3 -11.958) Conclusions: The treatment compliance rate of AFB (+) patients in the attack phase is quite high. Patients with high blood pressure < high blood pressure; living with family and friends; Patient with other chronic diseases have a higher rate of treatment adherence than the remaining group of subjects and the difference is statistically significant.
